An FTP site is typically used to send files that are too large to email. For extremely
large files, please contact your sales representative.
To use Advanced Circuits’ FTP site, go to ftp.4pcb.com. Log in as "anonymous" with
your e-mail address as your password. Go to the incoming directory (the download folder
is for downloading only). Incoming is where you place your files. With incoming folder
connected and your local folder with your zip file in the other window, most FTP
utilities require simply a double click of your file to upload it. If the file is big
enough, you will see a transfer activity while the file is being uploaded. Once the
file is there, you should see it in our incoming folder with the correct file size. If
immediate action is required for files submitted via FTP, please call us after uploading.
For customers using Netscape Navigator 3.0 or better:
If you are browsing the internet using Netscape Navigator 3.0 or better, you can go
directly to the FTP site and upload your files. Once you have reached the site, you can drag-and-drop
your file from a Windows Explorer window to the Netscape Browser window. You will be
asked if you want to upload the dragged file to the FTP server. Click OK and your file
will be uploaded.
For customers using MS Internet Explorer:
If you are using MS Internet Explorer, you will need to have a separate FTP utility,
such as CuteFTP or WSFTP (unless you have the FTP folder option installed in later
versions of Internet Explorer with which you should be able to perform the drag-and-drop
as detailed above for Netscape). If you do not have an FTP utility, you can get one on
our downloads page where you will find CuteFTP and FreeFTP (these may not be the latest
versions, but they do work). You can also search for a more recent FTP utility at
http://www.download.com and perform
a search for FTP utility of your choice.
