How to use the Online Library

Click on Search to access the Search form. Here you can enter a range of parameters to help you find the component you are looking for. You can preview the component and its details, then download it direct to your computer or have it sent by email. The file can then be added to your PCB Artist library set.

Only Manufacturer, Part Number and Pin Count are present for all parts in the online database.  Other attributes are included for reference but are not documented for every part in the database.

To comprehensively search for parts by a set of part attributes only, it is recommended to perform that search in the manufacturer’s or distributor’s website and then search the online library by Manufacture and Manufacturer Part Number.

Requires PCB Artist 1.2.2.

To check your current version of PCB Artist go to Help>About PCB Artist in the application.

If you have an older version than 1.2, you must first download 1.2 and then download and apply the patch. Close PCB Artist Before installing either 1.2 or the 1.2.2 patch.  Click here for the download links.

Using the Downloaded Part File

After downloading or receiving the email with the .palib file, save the file to your desktop or any directory. Then drag and drop the .palib file into PCB Artist.

The part will install itself into the $Downloaded .ssl schematic symbol, .psl PCB symbol, and .cml component libraries.

PCB Artist will need to rescan the libraries for the downloaded parts to be available.  To rescan the libraries, change the open library to [All Libraries].  The part will then be available to use.

Parts are provided for reference.  It is your responsibility to verify all aspects of all parts before use.
